Where to Find Help

The teams at SOI and CVision are here and excited to help you through your experience with TATOR. We want to ensure that TATOR feels easy to use and understand, such that you can annotate and analyze video footage smoothly.

In this documentation, you can find a set of FAQs, compiled with expected questions from our team and actual questions asked by users like you. You should be able to find answers to questions like “How do I draw a bounding box?” or “How do I use the ML model’s outputs?”.

If you are experiencing challenges or facing errors when using TATOR, feel free to reach CVision AI using the “Customer Service” button on the TATOR menu.. CVision AI can help with technical issues, platform errors, and basic usability.

If you have questions/concerns about how to annotate or questions related to SOI, feel free to email SOI at datasystems@schmidtocean.org. SOI can help with marine-related questions, data issues, and annotation protocol.

Training & Tutorials

We have put together some basic video tutorials, in addition to the public documentation, to help walk you through using TATOR. Once you use TATOR a few times, you’ll get the hang of it pretty quickly. There’s many features and possible customizations that TATOR offers, but we recommend starting with simple actions and slowly introducing more complex features.

Community Contributions

TATOR is constantly evolving and improving its functionality and experience. We’re very open to feedback on both this public documentation and especially on TATOR itself, so feel free to email us at datasystems@schmidtocean.org with any questions/comments to improve your experience. Whether it is new features, a hard-to-use interface, or just general feedback, we’re open to it all and happy to listen.

We want to encourage you to join us in growing the marine imaging community, full of scientists and ocean enthusiasts alike. Don’t just annotate on your own, find community through our Discord server to meet other annotators and learn about your peers. Talk about the great work you’re doing and amplify your impact!
